NUS Entrepreneurship Week (Eweek) is coming!

With the theme “Unleash the Entrepreneur in You”, you can look forward to more than 15 different events between 19th to 23rd January 2009 proudly brought to you by the NUS Entrepreneurship Society (NES), together with its Flagship Project, Start-Up@Singapore,  and its Eweek partners : The Digital Movement, NUS SIFE, E27, Garag3, Energy Carta and NOC Alumni. Join us and meet some of the most prominent industry leaders, local CEOs and budding entrepreneurs in Singapore to hear about their opinions, ideas and success stories.

NUS Entrepreneurship Week – Social Enterprise Monday

Social entrepreneur are reformers and revolutionaries who recognize a social problem and apply entrepreneurial principles to a venture which aims to bring forth a social change. They believe in holding accountable to each other as they play an integral part in movements for positive change. Today, engaging youth voice in solving social issues is becoming a common approach. So join us in Social Enterprise Monday to learn more about social entrepreneurship and how you too, can make a difference in the society.

Social Entrepreneurship Forum 2009-Making It Real
The Social Entrepreneurship Forum aims to provide a channel for discussion about social entrepreneurship – its future and opportunity. Held on Social Enterprise Monday, this event covers the opportunities and ideas for social entrepreneurship in Singapore and beyond. Do join us to learn insights and opinions on starting and sustaining social enterprises as well as fostering a vibrant social entrepreneurship community.

Idea Realization Workshop

Have you ever wondered how an entrepreneur selects an innovative idea to venture into? Thought about the underlying principles in marketing the products that stems from the idea? Or imagined the actual exciting process of pitching the product to potential customers? Have all these questions answered by participating in the S@S Idea Realization Workshop!

Held as part of the inaugural Entrepreneurship Week (Eweek) in NUS, the S@S Ideal Realization Workshop is a good opportunity to learn how to generate good business ideas and develop them into viable commercial products. Seize the opportunity to gain hands-on experiences on marketing your ideas through an interactive simulation game that challenges you to unleash your creativity and innovation capabilities! Join us as we take you on a journey where you will discover how to choose the best ideas and refine it to make it more marketable and practical.

NUS Entrepreneurship Week – Big Bang Tuesday! 20 January 2009

An excellent week deserves some great hype, and that’s the theme for the second day – Big Bang Tuesday! Start off the day by finding out the innovative ways of running a business not here, but in the alternate realm of virtual reality, where everything is possible, at the tip of your finger. And if that is not enticing enough, look out for the stars of the local business arena during the grand opening ceremony in the evening. Entrepreneurs in the e-commerce industry sharing their experience in starting up online business and how they proceeded by expanding it. Biotech Pitching & Commercialisation forum | 4.00pm – 6.00pm | E3-06-9, Faculty of Engineering

Interested to find out more about the process of transforming a research idea into a viable start-up? NUS Entrepreneurship Week – Unconventional Thursday, 22 January 2009

Often find yourself different from the rest? Always know that you have something special inside? Then ‘Unconventional Thursday’, the day where everything goes against the norm, is the right day for you! Unleash your inner creativity at the National Library Board workshop and spot potential leads for your business plan. Or if you believe in girl power, join the female entrepreneur discussion and be the next Nanz Chong, Elim Chew or Olivia Lum. NUS Entrepreneurship Week – Friday Big Mixing 23 January 2009

Need a final push to start on your journey as an entrepreneur? ‘Friday Big Mixing’, the final day of the inaugural Entrepreneurship Week, promises to end off the event with a big bang! If you find the topics on the first few days too niche, then look out for Friday, where the wide ranging topics means there is something for everyone.

Talk to the IT maestros from Microsoft to gain a deeper understanding of starting an online business. At the same time, let the speakers from Garag3 share their business experiences with you for inspirations. Or if you feel that studies is your first priority, how about considering a one year trip to an NUS Overseas College? Find out more about the program through the NOC sharing session in the evening.

The NUS Overseas Colleges (NOC) program sends students to entrepreneurial hubs across the globe, namely, Silicon Valley, Bio Valley (Philadelphia, USA), Shanghai, Stockholm and Bangalore to be inmmersed in the entrepreneurial spirit and culture in each of these locations. As part of the NUS Entrepreneurship Week, come listen to speakers invited by the NOC Alumni – explore how the entrepreneurship environment differs across the globe, plus uncover the unique experience at each college!
