Forum Nokia is Nokia’s global developer community and support program for mobile developers. Unlike the other smartphone developer platforms, the developer communities for Nokia has to grapple with many types handsets from Nokia that come in all shapes and sizes and cater to different markets from developing countries like the BIIC (Brazil, India, Indonesia and China) to developed economies (UK, US, Singapore). Through a private meeting arranged by Text100, I sat down with Purnima Kochikar, the VP Forum Nokia and Developer Communities, who is currently based in Silicon Valley. The Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab is a collaboration between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the government of Singapore created to explore new directions for the development of games as a medium. Now soliciting applications for interns, GAMBIT’s Summer Program is a nine week, full time, intensive game development experience. Students from Singapore join students from MIT and other New England colleges to create video games at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. A Singapore based media company, Xinya Media (Xinya) today announced that EDB Investments (EDBI) has taken a stake in Xinya. Including the investments from Gobi Partners and Cheng’s Film, Xinya has successfully raised a total amount of US$9 million in this round.
