The “conventional” innovative approach of “social business” as “a non-loss, non-dividend company designed to address a social objective” creates serious limitations to accountability, scaling, attracting investors and competing in an agressive business world. Daily Deal websites, or more infamously known as ‘Groupon Clones’ have taken the world by storm since December 2009. The world has rode on the ripple effects of Groupon’s runaway success and the deal-a-day scene has since mushroomed all over the world either via Groupon’s own brand name or more often by clones touched up with local flavour and understanding of its own market.

On 3 Nov, Six Degrees in partnership with Amazon Web Services, is organising a technical hands-on event on setting up cloud and its features. The 3-hour workshop would feature the theories of cloud computing and its benefits together with the scalability and it’s cost savings. The programme would also contain hands-on practical session for developers to setup their cloud computing on the spot and a live tutorials would be given by the AWS team themselves – questions pertaining to the setup and cost would be answered there and then.
