US-based mobile ad optimiser and mobile advertising company, Smaato just closed a new round of funding with Singapore’s EDBI as its lead investor in the USD 7 million funding round. The funding enables Smaato to expand in Asia, particularly to establish presence in Singapore which is considered as one of the fastest growing mobile ad/digital advertising hub in Asia. Singapore-based Facebook co-founder, Eduardo Saverin has led a Series A USD 8 million (SGD 10.2 million) investment round into US-based startup Qwiki. This follows its previous seed round of USD 1.5 million (SGD 1.9 million) Qwiki’s goal is “to deliver information in a format that’s quintessentially human – via storytelling instead of search.”
