The search is now on for the top Asian startups that will showcase their innovations at DEMO Asia 2011, to be held in Singapore from November 29 to 30, according to India Infoline.

The team behind the event will be holding the DEMO Asia Innovation Tour in the following locations from August: Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Jakarta (Indonesia), Bangalore (India), Beijing (China), and Taipei (Taiwan). At each visit, ten shortlisted startups will participate in a half-an-hour private pitching session with an audience consisting of venture capitalists, investors, and the media.

DEMO was started in the United States as a conference that launches new technology products. Some notable innovations that gained fame after launching at past DEMO conferences include: Adobe Acrobat, Skype Mobile, Sun Microsystems’ Java and others (read also about Singapore companies featured at DEMO).

Singapore is the second country to host DEMO Asia, after China. The event will be produced by Sphere Exhibits, a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings, in collaboration with IDG Enterprise and tech innovation portal VentureBeat.
