Happy 41st National Day from SG Entrepreneurs
August 8, 2006 by SGEntrepreneurs

The SG Entrepreneurs team wishes Singapore a happy 41th National Day. To make this really an interesting post and we, the entrepreneurs are really an optimistic bunch, we post a wish-list on our site. We welcome our readers to participate in this thread with us just as a celebration to National Day.
Of course, it’s our nation’s 41st birthday. As the optimistic bunch, the entrepreneurs present a wishlist we wish to see for our country:
- Less taxes: Yes, entrepreneurs are a group of people who favour less taxes. We hope to focus on using our revenue to grow our companies and enterprises.
- Education of Social Entrepreneurship: We need to talk more about social entrepreneurship and also create more awareness of social innovations that can solve a problem in our society.
Der Shing, resident contributor:
- We be more gracious and learn that life is not just about narrow succeess and money.
- We explore beyond the business and money and have our own thinkers and philosophers, musicians and artists.
- that we all are able to look back at the end of our lives and say that it was one hell of a ride and that we have our loved ones around us to share it.
Kenneth Wong, our latest resident contributor:
- The government to give more attention to start ups of a different nature ( e.g F&B or brick-mortar shops) rather than just high-tech start ups
- There will be more choice and flexibility in the educational system which allows the potential entrepreneur to have a chance to explore his path in life.
- Singaporeans to be more open-minded and not closed-minded about the inconsequential nitty-gritty when working overseas. I have worked with Singaporeans in China who have been really †shi2 ban3″ (dead rigid) and seem to be nothing but “water-carriers†with little opinion other than just doing things “by the bookâ€Â. Of course, doing too many things by the book may be detrimental in another country, especially in China, where the rules are always changing.
- For another big-name entrepreneur to emerge from our tiny island state. May Singapore continue to make its mark on the world!
Design Translator, our resident contributor:
- For Singapore and singaporeans to not take ourselves so seriously, and occasionally take a step back and just have a good laugh.
Bjorn Lee, our resident contributor:
- Loosen up and learn to have fun while working, Singapurrrrrrr….!
