Nice thoughts Bernie. Just to share some thoughts that I have formed in my time in CU entreprenurs and in Library House.

Entrepreneurship is all about team work. There are some basic skills and characteristics that an entrepreneur needs, many as stated in your article. Those are the 'bare bone' so to say.

However, we will be missing the point debating whether entrepreneurhsip can be taught. The answer lies in a successful venture, you need people with all the entrepreneurial passion, but each have a unique skill set that they bring to the venture, and each one of them would have defeciencies. True, entrepreneurship can't be taught in the lectures, but that again is not point. BUT, hell, entrepreneurship can be inspired by the lectures, and that is all that is needed. To be an entrepreneur is to be inspired. To have a successful venture mean to gather the team that is inspired but each bring something about entrepreneurship that others can't. That is why we entrepreneurs learn throughout our life.

Great post, BL :) I think that the 'nuts and bolts' subjects like Accounting (both Financial & Cost/Management Accounting), Taxation, & Business/Company Law can and should be taught. And maybe one module on Business Plan Writing and another on Business Strategy. So, content-wise, Entrepreneurship can be taught.

But if you're talking about the 'entrepreneurial spirit' that is necessary for entrepreneurship, then I think it can't be taught...
