How to get your article published in the press?

This is the difference between winning and losing.

One word: network. I’m sorry to disappoint, but I don’t have wise words for you here. So why am I writing this? Well, I’ve had people asking me for advice as to how to get publicity in the press and I’m not an expert at this, but seriously, it’s all about having friends in that particular newspaper or website where you want your event or company publicised. Robert of Licketyship.com also commented to a friend of mine that yes, it’s all about connections.

So, conclusion? Make friends out of journalists or reporters, but please, don’t be too crocodilish about it. Be sure that you want to get to know them genuinely as friends and not potential tools to reach your own goals. Friendships pay off, not tools – they depreciate or konk out on you.
