Celebrate iOS Dev Scout’s first birthday on iOS Day

iOS Dev Scout is an iOS developer and meetup group in Singapore that was started a year ago in December 2011 by Subhransu Behera, Michael Cheng, and Mugunth Kumar. The past one year has seen the group organizing 1 hackathon and 11 monthly meetups where iOS developers discuss their favorite libraries, tools and iOS apps. iOS currently boasts of a Facebook group that has more than 700 members till date who actively ask questions, seek advice and share knowledge thus by creating an eco-system.

To commemorate iOS’s one year, iOS Dev Scout will be designating the 22nd of December as iOS Day. It will serve as a one-day workshop cum hackathon, featuring 4 tutorial sessions tackling ObjC & iOS Development, hardware-hack and game development etc. that will be conducted by renowned speakers from the community. Participants can attend may or multiple sessions, form a group of 3 to 4 developers and build an app by the end of the day.

Students and newbies are most welcome to attend the event, learn and pair with an experienced developer and build their dream apps. Don’t worry, there will be mentors to help the teams out while they will be hacking and during the show & tell session to polish their pitches.

To spice things up, iOS Dev Scout will be giving away several StarBucks Coffee gift cards to the most notable teams or individuals.
