National Environment Agency holds Clean and Green Mobile hackathon in Singapore

To pave the way for more creative and innovative mobile solutions, the National Environment Agency (NEA) of Singapore and digital consultancy Reading Room are organizing the Clean and Green 2013 Hackathon. To be held across two days from 24th-25th November, it seeks to attract and gather together 100 developers, entrepreneurs, environment activists and students from Singapore.
This event is part of the National Environment Agency Clean and Green 2013 campaign and aims to form a lasting relationship with the creative community in Singapore while encouraging innovation and citizen collaboration for a more environmentally conscious and technologically enabled community.
The hackathon is centered on two main topics: “Safeguard our clean and green environment” and “Conserve our precious resources.” Attendees are expected to make use of utility, transport and smart grid datasets, and spend an intense 24 hours hacking and presenting with some of the nation’s brightest developers. At the end of the hackathon, participants are required to produce a working prototype of a native or web-based mobile application which may be demonstrated on any mobile OS of their choice.
