“The Startup Kids” film to screen in Vietnam, Asia’s first

The Startup Kids is a documentary about young web entrepreneurs in the U.S. and Europe, in which interviewees are the founders of Vimeo, Soundcloud, Kiip, Dropbox, Foodspotting and many others who had one thing in common: Passion. Throughout the film, each one will tell their own personal story detailing how their company was started and the challenges they faced as entrepreneurs.

This movie was created by two Icelandic entrepreneurs, Vala Halldorsdottir and Sesselja Vilhjalmsdottir, both driven by their passion for entrepreneurship. Having founded their first company shortly after the economic collapse of Iceland, they motivated other young people to become entrepreneurs by travelling around U.S and Europe and interviewing various start-up founders.

The start-up vibe in Vietnam is hotter than ever with many tech startups, online communities, incubators and great support from angel investors or venture capitalists. Many events about entrepreneurship have been conducted to create a startup ecosystem as the demand for startup support is dramatically increasing. Startup Kids can be considered as a warm gathering between investors, companies, startup enthusiasts to have a deeper view about Silicon Valley success and failure.

The screening, expected to be its first in Asia, will happen on Sunday, 18^th November 2012 in one of the finest theatres in RMIT University – Sydney theatre. Mr. Mike Tran, Keewi Founder & CEO, expressed his feelings towards the release of “The Startup Kids.” He believe it will become the hottest film for Vietnam startup community for this year. Not only because of this event is to celebrate the Global Entrepreneurship Week, but it will also be ONE-TIME-ONLY screening in Vietnam.

The film is organized by Keewi, Vietnam’s first event management platform. It provides high standard event management tools for event organizers and also a networking solution for conference attendees. Since the establishment of the company in the first quarter of 2012, Keewi has been recognized by startup community as a winner of Startup Weekend 2011 and been in many startup showcases inside and outside Vietnam, including the recent Failcon held in Singapore.
