On the speaker
SURVIVING THE CAREER MOVE TO BEING A SELF-STARTER
Mr Joseph had came face to face with the region’s recession in both year 2000 and 2003 upon both graduation where he learnt his ropes of survival skills in “Entrepreneurship Career Huntingâ€, where creativity is essential. He has always seen himself as a survivor and self-starter in today’s competitive world.
After being in the corporate workforce for less than 2 years, he took the unexpected route of giving up his salaried job and went to join the United Nations Peace-Keeping and Humanitarian Program, a move which was considered radical during those hard times when jobs were few.
He went on to spend a considerable time in East Timor (now known as Timor Leste), undertaking peace-keeping operation under the wing of the United Nations, and had earned himself the United Nations Service Medal and Singapore Overseas Operation Medal in recognition for his contribution to this selfless operation.
Most importantly; he had accumulated and applied the vast amount of invaluable experiences and lessons learnt from this third world country; that is being put into good use within his training context, as well as his business model’s maneuvers.
He went on to assist in co-pioneering an Adventure and Experiential Learning business during the SARS period, learning the hard way of operating a business for any start-ups.
2 years later; in the year 2005; Zest Resources Training and Consultancy was born with a mission to pioneer and lift the Entrepreneurial Scene to the next higher platform with Project:Senso.
