The E27 IV event is finally over. The turnout was great and the organization was awesome. While Gwen and BL are busy moderating a challenging discussion about the future of web 2.0 in the branded conversations track, the startups, for example, Wisheus.com and Tyler are making cool demos to engage the audience. Finally, BL has finally fulfilled a dream discussed a year ago (with Bjorn and Justin), that is to have a branded conversation with the user-generated content from the audience totally in the spirit of Web 2.0. Indeed, it has happened and the interesting part is that we are talking about web 2.0 and the simple message on where we go from there.

With the initial posts generated for our branded conversation about the feasibility of web 2.0 in Singapore, we landed ourselves into a discussion that started from the geeks talking about AJAX and Ruby and finally into how to harnass web 2.0 for the markets. The final message for the audience is simple: we should stop talking about whether we are ready for web 2.0 and get on with our lives to make it happen. So, we should start encouraging more startups in the web 2.0 landscape. It was one of the most engaging discussions that both moderators have been through. In fact, we started off with a low turnout, subsequently, near the end, we had an overflow of audience. We hope that you enjoyed this discussion and will be happy to continue the spirit of E27 (the unconference concept) for future discussions pertaining to new technologies, web business models and the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Singapore.

Of course, the real excitement is to look at different demos and get the geeks to share and discuss technology across the table. (Pictures will be uploaded as soon as we get it)

To the E27 Team (Bjorn, Justin, Royston, Vinod, Chandra, Prashant, QingRu Lim, Garry, Manas
Kevin, Michelle, Billy and all):
You guys and gals are awesome! Kudos to pulling off such a great event.

It was also a great occasion to meet up bloggers, students, policy makers and entrepreneurs who we wanted to meet for a long time or just started the connection with us: James Seng (Editor for Tomorrow.SG), Kevin Lim (Theory.IsTheReason.com), Intelligent Singaporean, Aaron Wee (MDA), Michael Cheng (PodcastGearGuide.com, thanks for the podcasting help), Leigh and Der Shing (JobsFactory), Benjamin Koe (ScoopAsia), Mark Reilly (Remarkable Innovation), Preetam Rai, Henry Lim (Yahoo), Terence (Harro), Herryanto Siatono (BookJetty and Pluit Solutions), Kelly Choo and Jeffrey Tiong (Patsnap), Douglas Abrams and many others whom we fail to mention. Of course, we have the biggest gathering of different groups in town, Project Senso and The Digital Movement. If we missed your name, drop us a comment and we’ll give you a shout here!

Yes, we got the t-shirts (but BL will like to get the shirt)…

  • thanks for the glowing comment, der shing! =) E27 didn't do much, we just built a stage and attendees like you guys (including SGE) provided the content.

We will have more articles by presenters and attendees alike coming up at http://www.entrepreneur27.org/sg/ over the next few days, perhaps after CNY. Happy holidays everyone!
  • I had a good time last night. First time I attended an unconference and the guys really made me feel like I was back at school. Also the level of passion and energy was great. I think i have been immersed so much into the details of running my own business that I forgot what it was like to be just starting out and hugely optimistic.

Great fun! Would recommend readers to attend.
