Presentation House Rules

Due to the nature of our events and our targeted audience we have some basic house rules for our speakers such as:
1. No Selling (This is subjective, but no blatant sales pitches)
2. Ask yourself what will your audience learn from your presentation

About MEET

MEET is an organization is focused on building and fostering our community of Business Leaders, Entrepreneurs and Would-be Entrepreneurs in Singapore, and we choose to do so by creating an online community and organizing monthly entrepreneurial networking events.

We are currently employing the popular “Pecha Kucha” format for our speaker event presentations . So what is “Pecha Kucha”? Each presenter is allowed 20 slides, each shown for 20 seconds each – giving 6 minutes 40 seconds of fame before the next presenter is up. This keeps presentations concise, the interest level up, and gives more people the chance to present.

Presenters can choose to speak about their experiences or any subject matter relevant to entrepreneurs. Sales pitches are not permitted (although this matter is subjective). To quote an example, a director of an accounting firm should not be presenting a subject that highlights their firms services and capabilities however subjects like “The 10 most common financial blunders made by SMEs” or “Ways to improve your bottom line” would be very welcome.

The most important point to take note of when picking a topic to speak on is to remember that the audience should be treated as your peers and not as your potential customers.
