Singapore Software Freedom Day 2009

The Free & Open Source Alliance of Singapore (FOSA), in partnership with National Library Board are proud to present an informational day specifically targeted at SMEs (Small Medium Enterprises) in Singapore. The Software Freedom day in National Library Building will be held from 18 to 19 Sep 2009, 10 am to 6 pm. Here are more details for the event:

Overview Sessions
* Date: Friday, 18 September 2009
* Times: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
* Venue: Possibility Room, 5th floor of the National Library Building, 100 Victoria Street, Singapore 188064
* Description: Short (30 minutes) sessions that provide an overview of various topics in the area of deploying and using Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) in small and medium sized enterprises. The emphasis is on the business and mangement best practices for the use of FOSS, as well as the benefits, and the pitfalls, of its use.
Public Exhibits
* Date: Saturday, 19 September 2009
* Times: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
* Venue: Outdoor plaza of the National Library Building, 100 Victoria Street, Singapore 188064
* Description: Demonstrations of FOSS and its applications by community groups, businesses and indviduals. There will be games, music, art, and contests with prizes. The focus is on FOSS for families and individuals.
Tutorial Sessions
* Date: Saturday, 19 September 2009
* Times: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
* Venue: 2nd-floor seminar rooms, SMU School of Information Systems, 80 Stamford Road, Singapore 178902
* Description: Longer sessions that provide in-depth technical tutorials and hands-on sessions. The intended audience is technical professionals and computer enthusiasts.
