About The developerWorks Series: This is a series of workshops developed by the Ph.P Society and IBM to introduce both our developer communities to the potential synergies that can be acheievd with open source software in the enterprise.
About Philosophy in Programming (PHP) Society
The Society started life as the Singapore PHP User Group in mid-2006 and aimed to the needs of the emerging PHP developer community. The user group is currently 500+ members strong and still growing.
In June 2008, we founded the Philosophy in Programming Society (Ph.P Society) to better govern the Singapore PHP User Group. As a step-up from the informal user group, the Ph.P Society has a wider mandate of championing the open source development community and to raise the standards and proficiency of the software programming members – starting with the PHP Community.
IBM & developerWorks: IBM is synonymous with excellence in enterprise computing. IBM’s hardware and software are known for their reliability and dependability. IBM has committed to open source in a big way with contributions to more than 120 projects, including more than $1 billion in Linux® development, Eclipse and PHP. IBM developerWorks website has a large contribution of resources for open source development and implementation.
Philosophy in Programming Society is pleased to partner with IBM in reaching out to the developer communities and to educate them on the potential synergies between IBM technologies and PHP – The immense interoperability and speed of PHP coupled with IBM’s legendary rock-solid systems.
