Well, i would prefer to be invited for your birthday:)....
For the Invent Singapore 2009 tickets....you guys doing pretty much good job anyways....
Its already been updated pretty often and comments replied individually with minute details.
You guuyz deserve a round of applause.
It would be nice as well if more of global entrepreneur section/updates be added.
It may be worthwhile to have articles from other entrepreneurial communities for opening up own minds.
Also a Q&A discussion forum for people with aspirations to become a entrepreneur, more on the guidelines of say- "Admission guide for education in US" in simplified language for common man.
The idea of being an entrepreneur is dormant in all but few take the daring step to break the shackles as lot is at stake and depends on ones own time, age, opportunity, business domain skills, networking circle, mentors and above all a strong sense of 'HOPE'. So a push towards it would definitely help. But more freebies, attractive marketing, to keep people hooked on to you...Not u Gwen:)(on a soft note) but sgentrepreneurs.com in general is a definite bonus.

    Cheerz,
    Shriekanth

hi Shriekanth, thanks very much for your candid response and vote of confidence! glad you think we deserve a round of applause. :)

your point on how only the courageous few take the step to being an entrepreneur is a good point. we actually through our interviews aim to inspire more budding entrepreneurs so that they go beyond "hoping" that their venture will succeed, but that they try to ensure success as much as possible but still knowing when to quit. thanks for all your suggestions!

oh yeah, I don't really celebrate my birthday all that much. so no party. :P
  • Majority of budding entrepreneur find it difficult to find right set of people to team up and work together. Sometimes individuals have ideas about an innovative product or services, however they end up wasting lot of time and energy locating team-members who have expertise and skills to carry out the idea.

As a premier web resource for budding entrepreneurs, Sgentrepreneur.com should provide a platform where individuals can post their small synopsis of ideas and what exactly they are looking in aspiring team-mates. It will not only help in bringing together entrepreneurs from the region, but will also increasing the visibility of the site by gaining more traffic and returning users.

hey Abhinav, thanks very much for contributing your suggestion. the problem you bring up is something we've noticed as well. your proposed solution is a very good one. we'll try to see if we can provide something like that! thanks for it. :)

Good news, Abhinav. Daniel Vaughan is currently in the UK and wouldn't be able to attend. So we would now like to offer you the 3rd ticket to Invent Singapore 2009. I'll be dropping you an email. Congrats!
  • I think it would be interesting to have more interviews with innovative people from non-tech domains. When people are thinking of the next great thing that will make them a successful tech entrepreneur a really useful thing to do is to broaden their point of view by learning something from someone domain completely novel to them.

An interview with an innovative vet, airline pilot, archaeologist, hair dresser or anyone who either solved a problem or did something innovative in their industry would be interesting. It also might be the thing that causes the slight shift in thinking that sparks a great idea. It also shows people in the tech world, day in day out that there is a whole world of problems a tech person would never usually come across just waiting to be solved.

    thanks Daniel. you won!

Hi, I feel the sg entrepreneur is only bring the interview of entrepreneur to the viewer. What it lag is bring exciting programme organise by sgEntrepreneur. Thus sgEntrepreneur can have a unique that will be remember by all members.

For this, I suggest that sgEntrepreneur can build up a network of entrepreneur that it has interview and add it to its data. It can create platform where the entrepreneur can regularly post their updates of entrepreneur experience and things they wish to share. It will become a mini-blogging for the entrepreneur. And if there is any aspiring entreprenur who wish to post to question to a specific entrepreneur, the platform will let the entrepreneur know about and the entrepreneur can reply the query to person who post the question.

sgEntrepreneur will be become a one stop centre between entrepreneur and the people who wish to be entrepreneur.

I wanna see a make over website for sgentrepreneurs, Currently looks a bit boring.. need some life for the website to attract more people to make them feel welcoming .. sorry if i say things wrong.
    all the best ..
  • gwendolynregina
hey maxlibin. lol. makeover indeed. saying your opinion isn't wrong, so don't worry about it. our feelings aren't hurt. :P thanks for participating!
  • Hey Gwen...My name's Rohit Jha...I met you at the seminar in NTU held by NTU Entrepreneurship Society, gave you my biz card with "webdesignes/alternate microsoft surface" written at the back..was talking to you about how difficult its to find like minded team/people..haha hope u remember now..

Regarding the question, I think there should be a section on this website where start-ups or individuals post their ideas/biz plans/elevator's pitch either by means of text entry or a short 1 min video of themselves presenting the idea....it would be really cool and a great oppurtunity for entrepreneurs to get visually acclaimed.

    thanks Rohit. you won!

I want to see Gwen's face more on the website! It's toooooooo
impersonal already! Have some Web 2.0 stuff to get people to
participate more! Get people involved. Let them have their say! Let
    them see more of Gwen!
  • hi jedilq, thanks for your submission! but sorry, we had to choose from amongst all the suggestions. but i do agree it's a bit more on the professional side than on the personal side. okay, will try my best to change that yeah?
  • Have a section where prominent CEOs give a brief review about the biz books that they are reading and how they apply to their own companies. Educational!
  • hey Colin, thanks very much for your suggestion. it's actually an interesting idea as I'm sure the diversity of thoughts would also mean that no two readings of a biz book would be the same. so we could see one CEO/entrepreneur agree and another disagree vehemently. we're not sure yet this is something we can do on a standalone basis but perhaps we could include it in our interviews. :) thanks again for your suggestion.
