Hosted by well-respected investor and entrepreneur, Joi Ito; entrepreneur and community organizer, Sean Bonner; and our very own James Chan, the first installation of Neoteny Camp Singapore will take place over two exciting days in December.
Neoteny Camp Singapore
Bringing several international investors, startups and innovators to Singapore, Neoteny Camp Singapore aims to cover a whole range of topics, including investing and incubating, to building startups and hackerspaces. With the crowd that is due to attend the event, it is hoped that there will be lots of sharing of expertise.
There will also be a Mozilla Drumbeat Challenge on the night of the 12th.

Neoteny Labs
This 2-day Neoteny Camp Singapore will also act as the launch of Neoteny Labs, an early stage venture fund and incubator. The main people behind Neoteny Labs are: Joi Ito (General Partner), Reid Hoffman (Investment Committee Chairman), James Chan (Investment Manager).
Some of the Mentors that they have lined up include: Cory Ondrejka, Shawn Fanning, Dave Morin, Pivotal Labs, IDEO, John Seely Brown, Jun Murai (father of Japan Internet), Ryuichi Sakamoto (musician+composer), Tim O’Reilly, Lawrence Lessig.
Incubation and investment focus will be on Consumer Internet, Mobile Apps and Consumer Hardware & Electronics Design in the Asia region.
Neoteny Labs Collaboration
Centre of Best Practices in Software Engineering
Neoteny Labs also wants to help up the level of expertise of our people in software engineering through establishing a Centre of Best Practices with Pivotal Labs.
This Centre will administer proficiency tests and interviews to hire engineers who will be exposed to ARC (Agile, Ruby-on-Rails and the Cloud). These engineers will also be exposed to and work on difficult problems from Google, Twitter, etc., so that they may gain exposure to other platforms, technologies and markets.
Entrepreneurs-In-Residence
Neoteny Labs will also try to attract and relocate entrepreneurs to join the Labs as EIRs to work on their ideas.
