iMatch International logoThis second time around, iMatch International is back again with a new line-up of internationally successful entrepreneurs and investors who will be listening to the live pitches of 20 companies come 10th March.

Panelists

John Mactaggart, Australian Association of Angel Investors (AAAI): The current Chairman of AAAI, John has extensive experience across many industries from food processing to computer hardware and software. Through JL Mactaggart Holdings, John has provided venture capital to many companies. He has played an important role in guiding Technology One Ltd through its formative years as the nominee of JL Mactaggart Holdings, which is a Founding Shareholder of Technology One Ltd.

Aydin Senkut, Felicis Ventures: Mr Aydin Senkut is the Founder and President of Felicis Ventures and has been an angel investor in promising start-ups since the end of 2005. His portfolio encompasses over 30 companies including Appjet (acquired by Google), Mint (acquired by Intuit), Mochi Media (acquired by Shanda Games) and Powerset (acquired by Microsoft). Prior to starting Felicis Ventures, he was a Senior Manager at Google, responsible for strategic partner development and account management in Asia Pacific (including Japan).

James Hong, Hot or Not: James has invested in multiple start-ups including Slide, Mochi Media, Raptr, Crunchyroll, BitTorrent and Frapp. He is also the co-founder of the online rating site Hot or Not, that allows users to rate the attractiveness of photos submitted voluntarily by others. Within a week of launching, it had reached almost two million page views per day. Within a few months, the site was immediately behind CNET and NBCi on NetNielson Rating’s Top 25 advertising domains.

Bob Lin, Multi-Dimensional Venture Partners: Bob has more than 25 years of angels and venture investment expertise with multiple IPOs. He also has long history of entrepreneurial start-up and international business, marketing and management experiences. Well-known for launching investment for Avanti (IPO ’95 25x), AltiGen (IPO ’97) and LightLogic (sold to Intel for $400M ’01 for 100x). His other portfolios include Fortinet, Anda Network, MONDAY Tech (sold to Yahoo ’08) etc.

Alberto Yépez, Trident Capital: A Venture Partner at Trident and will be a Managing Director in Fund VII focusing on Enterprise Software and IT Security. Prior to joining Trident, Alberto was Vice President of Identity Management and Security Strategy at Oracle. He joined Oracle through the acquisition of Thor Technologies, Inc. a Trident portfolio company that was a leading provider of identity management solutions.

Paul Bragiel, i/o Ventures: Paul Bragiel is the co-founder of Lefora, a product bringing forums into the 21st century. Previously he co-founded Meetro, the first location based social network and was the founder of Paragon Five, a game development studio specializing in console and mobile with offices in Chicago and Krakow, Poland.

Ashwin Navin, i/o Ventures: Ashwin Navin was the President and Co-founder of BitTorrent until August 2008. He hails from Yahoo where he was an influential member of the company’s Corporate Development group. He has extensive experience in structuring and negotiating acquisitions, partnerships and alliances in the tech industry.

Jupe Tan, Plug and Play: Jupe is an incubator manager with Plug and Play Tech Center. Plug and Play is one of the seven Technology Incubators selected by NRF under its Technology Incubation Scheme (TIS) to nurture early stage high tech start-up companies in Singapore. The Singaporean operations, with close affiliation to its current US operations, will transfer management know-how and build a bridge between Plug and Play in Singapore and its existing entrepreneurial eco-system in Silicon Valley.

After submitting your business proposal, you will be required to take part in the pre-selection round held on 3 March 2010 and make an elevator pitch to a local investor panel comprises of Walden International, JAIC Asia, Mingly Infocomm Investments etc..

You will be informed whether you have been selected as one of the 20 companies to pitch to the international investor panel at i.MATCH International Conference.

Separate Masterclass Workshop

Separately, in conjunction with i.Match International, Expara will be running a masterclass workshop (held on 1 – 3 March 2010) prior to the pre-selection round for i.Match International held in the afternoon of 3 March 2010. The workshop will aim to review and improve companies’ business plan/pitches.

Please note that it is not mandatory to register for the workshop in order to submit to i.Match International.
