About The Speaker
David is CEO of Teten Advisors, which specializes in advising private equity and venture capital funds on accelerating deal flow, portfolio company executive optimization and recruiting, and due diligence. David recently completed the first-ever study of best practices of venture capital and private equity funds in sourcing private company investments, based on his work with a range of institutional investor clients, interviews with over 150 professional investors, and research he conducted in writing his book, The Virtual Handshake: Opening Doors and Closing Deals Online. David will be releasing his findings in forthcoming articles in the Harvard Business Review and the Journal of Private Equity.
David was formerly a Managing Director with Evalueserve, a 2,500-person financial research and analytics outsourcing company based in India, China, Chile & Romania. David was previously Founder and CEO of Circle of Experts, an investment research firm acquired by Evalueserve. He was also formerly Founder and CEO of an investment bank focusing on serving the internet domain name asset class, which he built to 450 customers.
He worked with Bear Stearns’ Investment Banking division as a member of their technology/defense mergers and acquisitions team, and was a strategy consultant with Mars & Co.
David is currently based in New York and is visiting Singapore as part of the faculty for the Singapore launch of the Founder Institute, a training program for technology entrepreneurs. David holds a Harvard MBA and a Yale BA, both with honors. He sits on the Advisory Boards of Accolo, Grouply, and the Word of Mouth Marketing Association.
