A word-play on IQ (Intelligent Quotient) and EQ (Emotional Quotient), C-Quotient stands for China-Quotient. This is a speakers’ series organized by Business China Singapore, targeted at motivating tertiary students to keep pace with the rapid progress of China. Conducted on campus, this series will showcase outstanding speakers engaged in activities of interest to youths e.g. technology, lifestyle, popular culture, volunteerism, social entrepreneurship.

Mr Goh Chye Boon, CEO of Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Investment & Development Co Ltd
Mr Goh is the Chief Executive Officer of the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Investment & Development Co Ltd. As a flagship project between the PRC and Singapore Government, the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City is envisioned to create a harmonious and sustainable community that meets the needs of an urbanizing China. Strategically located within the fast-growing Tianjin Binhai New Area and only 40 km away from Tianjin Municipal, the 30 sq km Tianjin Eco-City will be a modern township where 350, 000 residents can live, work and play. Prior to this, Mr Goh was the Deputy Secretary (Special Projects) for the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI).As DS (Special Projects), he was responsible for overseeing the organization of the inaugural Formula ONE night race held in Singapore in September 2008. Before joining MTI, Mr Goh was the Executive Director of External Department at the Monetary Authority of Singapore, where he co-chaired the Organising Committee for the 2006 IMF-World Bank Group of Governors Annual Meetings held in Singapore.
Ms Lim Sau Hoong, CEO & Executive Creative Director of 10 AM Communications, Chairperson of Promote Mandarin Council
Sau Hoong began her career at Ogilvy & Mather Singapore, where she spent a total of 11 years, moving up from junior Copywriter to Creative Director of Ogilvy & Mather Singapore, Beijing and Shanghai. Following this, Sau Hoong took her stewardship to the BBDO network, where she served as both Executive Creative Director of the Singapore office and Creative Consultant for the network’s China arm. On October 2000, Sau Hoong founded 10AM Communications, where she remains Chief Executive Officer and Executive Creative Director. Sau Hoong’s work for Guinness, titled “Words of Wisdom” and featuring Hong Kong celebrity George Lam, found its way into Singapore’s and Hong Kong’s popular culture in the early 1990s. Also, her work for China’s national broadcaster, CCTV, marked the first time the broadcaster had ever paid for a promotional piece. The slogan for the commercial was voted as one of China’s most memorable slogans. Identified for her unique creative talent, Sau Hoong was invited to join the Planning Committee for the 2008 Beijing Olympics’ Opening Ceremony as visual advisor, and contributed to the success of the Beijing Olympics. She currently chairs the Promote Mandarin Council (Singapore) and the Shanghai World Expo 2010 Singapore Pavilion Advisory Panel.
Mr Chase Ma, Founder & Creative Director, Average Outlier/ A205
Chase is the Founder & Creative Director of Average Outlier. His vision of “Improving Society through Design”has shaped the idea of “Commercialization of Design”, where fashion should be “Affordable” and not “Disposal”. Deeply engaged in the entire supply chain from Concept to Retail, Chase is someone who would be referred to as a fashion industry “insider”. Extremely knowledgeable about the textiles & apparel manufacturing industry and a sharp eye for design, Chase has been redefining the fashion retail industry in China since graduating from London Business School in 2008. Since then he and his team has been reported by more than 50 media across Asia. He was profiled in 2010 as one of Asia’s new upcoming designers and named as one of the top 25 “trendsetters, style-makers & taste-formers who rule China’s fashion world” in 2009.
