Programme Highlights
Part I — Corporate Governance on Angel & VC Board
While some venture capital backed company boards operate in close cooperation with the company CEO, many experience dysfunction and most are sub-optimized. Pascal will discuss how to create a high performance board of directors by leading a conversation around basic director duties and responsibilities, conflict resolution, and how to work effectively with the CEO. Characteristics around effective versus ineffective boards will also be discussed. Some of the important differences in board dynamics in China will be contrasted with the U.S. experience.
Part II — BANSEA Announcement on Launch of Legal Templates
As a service to the local entrepreneurship community, BANSEA will be launching a set of legal templates such as term sheets and investment agreements as a resource for local angels and entrepreneurs. These are intended to be a starting point for angels and startups who may be unfamiliar with seed-stage investing. These materials will be made available on BANSEA’s website in June. A workshop on “Angel Investment Term Sheet 101” will also be conducted in Q3 this year. Over time we hope that this resource will grow in breadth and depth.
