The 4th Vietnam Girl Geek Dinner will feature the story of Hello3DWorld.com and the woman behind it. Thao Le describes herself as stubborn. It is what it takes to succeed in life, more particularly as a woman? Or more as an entrepreneur? She will share with us her story, what inspires her and where she gets all the energy to be the successful founder and CEO of Hello3DWorld.
Girl Geek Dinner started in London in 2005. Being only one of few women in tech events is tiring: “No, I don’t work in Marketing”, “Yes, I studied computer science”. You constantly need to prove yourself. Girl Geek Dinners offer a space free of this burden where women in IT can express and share their passion. The community has grown worldwide thanks to amazing sponsors who provided great venues and fantastic support:
- Spread over 25 countries
- 30,000 people – over Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook
- Vietnam is part of the community since June 2012
You may not know a women was actually the first computer programmer, but you’ve surely experienced the benefits of gender diversity in teams: better decision making, increased creativity, and more innovation. Especially with Agile management becoming mainstream, there is a growing demand for IT workers with leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Girl Geek Dinner believes that women in Vietnam can and should take up this space. It wants to inspire and give them the confidence to do so.
The events are non-profit and free. There is a dinner, presentations, and time for discussion.
