Microsoft is looking to hire a star performer, super-charged on Web technologies for their Singapore-based team under the Developer and Platform Evangelism Workgroup. Here’s their video talking about the position.

Developer and Platform Evangelism (DPE) Workgroup’s Purpose

DPE focuses on promotion and adoption of Microsoft platform technologies, which leads to current and future revenue.

Responsibilities include:

- Driving Broad Customer Connection across the Developer, Architect and IT Pro audiences through an integrated approach to evangelism, communities and intelligent audience marketing
- Marketing of the broad Microsoft platform and developer tools
- Engaging ISVs through depth and breadth technical evangelism activities and providing strategic leadership on ISVs across the subsidiary/district
- Driving highly visible design wins in enterprise accounts that lead to compelling evidence and customer references; this includes scaling design wins on the Microsoft platform enabling services partners to architect and win business-critical applications based on the Microsoft platform
- Selling developer tools to enterprise accounts, partners and through the channel
- Engaging students and faculty in universities and high schools in order to win mindshare of nascent developers

Web Developer Evangelist

This is a contingent staff position (contract). The Web Developer Evangelist owns the competencies related to Microsoft Client Experience tools and technologies:

1. Microsoft Silverlight
2. .NET Framework Windows Presentation Foundation
3. Microsoft Expression Studio
4. Microsoft Internet Explorer 8
5. Microsoft Silverlight for Mobile
6. Microsoft ASP.NET AJAX

As competency owner, the individual is expected to:

1. Be the local subject matter expert on the identified technologies
2. Articulate technical value proposition of Microsoft’s client experience technologies vs. competition
3. Provide cross-audience support to the Singapore DPE team in terms of breadth evangelism, customer engagement, ISV, startup, and Academia(students/faculty)
4. Provide cross-audience support in depth technical enablement
5. Plan and own technical enablement programs such as developing training course materials
6. Support specific depth engagements in implementing POCs
7. Drive engagements with the Designer community through breadth programs.

Requirements:

- 5 – 8 years of related experience
- Experience with development projects, lead in development team
- Min. Bachelor’s Degree (B.S/B.A)
- Field of Study: Business, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline
- Certified: MCAD, MCSD
- Passion for technology and solid knowledge of web development and competitive offerings. Great communication and presentation skills. Deep technical skills. Ability to build partnership and trust with people of different mindsets.
