Recently, Michael Cheng, a serial entrepreneur friend of mine has started the Podfire.sg, a video podcast network to distribute content all over Asia. Being a social media hobbyist, I have taken some time out of my own schedule to produce and write the Geek Goddess show together with Michael (and we are both fans of Studio 60), which is hosted by Estee Teo (we created the show concept out of her online persona, Geek Goddess) and Peter Du. Our focus is on the web scene in Asia, where we are starting from the web 2.0 sites in China first, slowly moving across the Asia Pacific region (so stayed tuned). Here are the first two episodes of the show, and do take a look and send us your feedback on the Geek Goddess Show website. You can also check out my own production notes here.

    Hi Inspir3d,

Thanks for your feedback. A lot of the show is still in experimentation. The title of the show is based on Estee's nick. Even for the early days of Geek Briefs or CommandN, the same set of criticisms you raised are noted for the hosts as well.

We can only work on what we have as hobbyists and make efforts to improve things better.
  • another point i'd like to raise:

wikipedia defines Geek as: "a peculiar or otherwise odd person, especially one who is perceived to be overly obsessed with one or more things including those of intellectuality, electronics, gaming, etc."

Estee doesn't fit the mould at all! Peter seems more like the Geek.

i think the oxymoronic term "Geek Goddess" reflects the lack clear focus of what the show is really about

maybe u shd retitle it "A Geek and a Goddess", because that's what seems to be actually appearing on the show.
  • Peter Du and Estee don't go well together as co-hosts...

Peter's English is far to scrappy, and no personality...compared to Estee...

also there are sections where Peter is going on and on about features of the sites and there are no images demonstrating those features... need to demonstrate action on a web browser rather than looking at the hosts talking to you about something u cannot visualise
