Ok.. i am ashamed.

SGE team was generous enough to have me as a contributor, not only did i rarely contribute, i didnt even get to read a thread on tencube until 2 weeks later. =( sigh.. startup life.

Anyways, thanks to all who are supporters of tenCube and SG enterpreneurs, we keep going because of yours and each others’ cheering.

For Tencube what I heard from BlogIn is that they concentrate more on singapore corporate market. Bak2u is more overseas covering from phones to pda to laptops to blackberry end users if I am not wrong and more international since 2 years ago with their lost and found labels too.

I think Bak2u and Tencube are quite different in a way that tencube provides backup of the data and BAK2u is more standalone with no subscription fees.

Also from what I heard from paddy at the ping.sg celebration as a sponsor earlier, he started out using only his own money and not funded. The cost must have been very high to run since many start up may or may not turn into profit so fast too.

May both companies make singapore startups proud!

Tencube means they earn revenue but not profit after deduction of expense and operation cost.

Profit = Revenue – cost

Look like the cost seem higher now. That’s probably normal for startup doing different thing.

Why not TenCube follow what PaddyTan doing ? Since Paddy has good business and good marketing and visibility in the industry. Tencube’s technology is just as good but currently nowhere as visible to the public as Paddy. I’m seen in recent that Paddy is getting very visible in video shot, youtube, and ping.sg .

Generally, it is the first mover or best technology that win, it is the best PR and marketing that more effective.

Hun Boon: tenCube has made quite a bit of money – just that we are not profitable yet. And the founders still hold a major chunk of equity.

I attended a talk by Darius once on his products, and in response to a question by the floor, he hinted that the company has yet to make money since inception.

It’s tough for start ups to last 2 years without making money, they really need the backing of investors. Which of course means that you lose precious equity. Not the best of situations to be in.
