A new web service has just turned up from Shannon Low, one of the co-founders of Shoplette.com. Shoplette is a service you can use to tell your friends what you bought and where you bought it. Check out what your friends have bought and where they’ve been shopping, discover new stuff to buy and new places to shop, and find out what’s hot and where to shop in other countries. Do check it out.

  • @Jonathan Kong: Yes, Shoplette is built on Rails. Thanks very much for your feedback and support. We really appreciate it, and will work hard to keep improving the site.
  • Given the fact that Shoplette launched as a Beta service, it has already shown itself armed with some of the essential social networking tools although I reckoned they may beef up the aesthetic department. Site, I believed is built on Ruby on Rails.

    The main strength of Shoplette is that (which I think is critical) they give reasonably amount of CONTROL and IDENTITY to it's community members. As a shopping community-driven network, the two attributes mentioned retains the interest of their members by being useful to them (uploading of purchases, posting by MMS, Google map integration etc) and providing services (commenting system, connecting friends and people, personal profiling etc) that are entertaining or help them to expand their networks.

    Expect more good stuffs and implementations from the team at Mobrick who created Shoplette.
