Given the fact that Shoplette launched as a Beta service, it has already shown itself armed with some of the essential social networking tools although I reckoned they may beef up the aesthetic department. Site, I believed is built on Ruby on Rails.

The main strength of Shoplette is that (which I think is critical) they give reasonably amount of CONTROL and IDENTITY to it's community members. As a shopping community-driven network, the two attributes mentioned retains the interest of their members by being useful to them (uploading of purchases, posting by MMS, Google map integration etc) and providing services (commenting system, connecting friends and people, personal profiling etc) that are entertaining or help them to expand their networks.

Expect more good stuffs and implementations from the team at Mobrick who created Shoplette.
