You’ve got the idea, your code is solid, but you’re still working for the man and uncertain about going solo on the App Store — sound like you? Well you’re not alone. Others have been where you are and taken the leap into being full-time iOS developers, on their terms, doing what they want.
One More Thing isn’t a traditional programming conference. It’s a meeting for iOS developers, designers and those who just want to come along for the ride. You won’t directly learn to code better. Your UI probably won’t improve either. But you will leave with more confidence in your abilities as an iOS developer or designer.
Their hope is that through listening to the stories of successful independent iOS developers, you will be inspired to follow through on your own ideas and projects.
For 2012, they’ve brought the best independent iOS developers from all over the world to Melbourne, and expanded to an extra day of workshops, with masters in the craft of code & design. If you’ve ever wanted to make a living off the App Store, making your own apps and setting your own agenda, One More Thing is where you want to be.

This geek managed to get hold of Eric for an interview in during Intel AppUp Elements 2010 Conference in Marriott Hotel, San Francisco and we discussed about what Adobe’s strategy for developers are and how Adobe sees themselves helping developers, why they got into a partnership with Intel AppUp, their new service for developers called Melrose, about their thoughts on MeeGo and the status of Flash and AIR support for MeeGo as well as product roadmap.
A special one for the tech startups who are developing apps on Flash and thinking about the business viability of MeeGo and AppUp. Pardon the pretty raw editing though, this geek is so not a video editor and I tried to shorten the video to fast forward to the important parts. Read more

Looks like there will be new opportunities for developers in Singapore, Microsoft has just announced that they are releasing version 4.0 of the.NET Micro Framework (via Peter Gill) and will be open sourcing making it available under the Apache 2.0 license. Given that there are a lot of ongoing efforts in developer space like HackerSpace and online communities dealing with Internet and tech enterprises, this development will be of interest for those out there. On another note, SGE is also part of Microsoft BizSpark Sponsorship program and drop us a note if you are interested to be part of the program.
