Touchten, a top mobile games developer from Indonesia, has announced that its latest free-to-download title, Train Legend, has reach the top 5 position overall in the United States iOS App Store. It has logged over 200,000 downloads within 24 hours.
Created by a lean 15-person team, Train Legend, which is also available on Android, is a puzzler that tasks players with connecting color-matched railroads in order to create a path for trains. Reviewers, which gave it an average of 3 out of 5 stars, have noted its similarities to Flow Free, an earlier game where players join pipes to let water through. Read more
Singapore-based startup Gimmie announced today that it has raised a USD521K (SGD639K) round led by WaveMaker Labs in partnership with the NRF under the Technology Incubation Scheme. Completing the round is Ideosource, a Jakarta-based VC firm.
The company, which started in Silicon Valley in 2011 before moving to Singapore last year, will use the funds to expand across Asia in 2013. Indonesia features prominently in Gimmie’s plans. The startup made an appearance at Sparxup 2012, a startup conference in Jakarta. Ideosource will be helping the company expand its footprint in the country.
The company had previously raised USD 244K from angel investors in the United States. Tandem, a mobile industry incubator in Silicon Valley, invested USD 200K. Read more
The 10 finalists for Echelon 2012, a major technology startup conference in Singapore, has been announced. They will be pitching on stage at the event to vie for the title of Most Promising Startup.
The startups come from the following countries: Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, Japan, the Philippines and Thailand. At this moment, they are fine-tuning their actual day pitches with the e27 team, who are the organizers of the event.
