WMware: Inaugural Women in IT Forum – 9 Nov

Next Wednesday, VMware will organize a panel discussion with topic “Inspiring change in our workplace”. Audiences can discuss their thoughts and views on salient issues like the perceived role and function of women in IT today and the way forward for women and the industry as a whole. There will be Jane Horan of Horan Group as the keynote speaker with Rachel Goh of NCS, Grace Chng of Singapore Press Holdings, Audrey Tan of PlayMoolah, and Charmaine Sim of IBM Singapore as the panelists.

This Friday, Grace Chng of Singapore Press Holdings and John Phillip of DocuBuzz will be the speakers of Developer Garage. Both speakers will give a different talk, both focusing on escalating and potentially explosive tablet sales.

Grace will give a talk on “iPad Dominance”. Google’s acquisition of Motorola and HP’s  killing  of WebOS has led to the question of whether there is life for non-iOS tablets. She will discuss the demise of Touchpad and its impact on RIM, Microsoft and Apple, as well as the outlook for consumers and developers.

Meanwhile, John Phillip will outline key challenges faced by DocuBuzz in developing its tablet-oriented DynaMeet meeting management solutions. Read more
