SingTel’s HungryGoWhere partners with Perx and Reserveit.sg, could lay foundation for ‘super food network’

Imagine reading a restaurant review on HungryGoWhere, then booking a table on Reserveit.sg. Once the reservation is done, you get a notification on Perx saying that you’ve received a chop, which allows you to redeem a dessert.

It’s a foodie’s dream come true, and we might not need to wait too long for it to happen.

The foundation is already set. We’ve learnt today that SingTel-owned HungryGoWhere, Singapore’s leading food portal, has partnered with mobile loyalty startup Perx (which has over 700 locations and 400,000 chops so far) and restaurant reservation service Reserveit.sg to integrate their services into the site. It would appear that Singapore-based Reserveit.sg has maintained its front-runner status as the king of online restaurant reservation sites in Singapore.

Now, with the launch of their mobile app on iOS, they are leaving Chope.sg and TableDB in the dust.

Mobile is big in Singapore, so there’s definitely value in creating a mobile app to allow users to fluidly make reservations. Read more

Restaurant reservation sites take off in Singapore

Sooner or later, someone was going to use the Internet to let diners make restaurants reservations instantly.

Such an idea isn’t new: US-based OpenTable has been doing it since 1998, and they’ve expanded their services into eight countries.

In Singapore, the concept is just beginning to take off. Within the past couple of years, at least four such websites have already sprung up.
