The competition is seeking for the most innovative and creative startups that meets a need in the marketplace and has good potential for long-term success and scalability. For the first time since it started 4 years ago, the Amazon Web Services Start-Up Challenge was brought to Asia Pacific. The competition closed November 1st and fifteen semi-finalists have been selected, of which 5 are from Asia. The judges looked at applications, business models, management teams, and use of AWS.
