What Is Digital Signage

For those who are not familiar with the term, digital signage is the industry term for those LCD or plasma advertising screens (and other types) you see in shopping malls and consists of much more than those screens. Basically, digital billboards. A whole army of software and hardware is needed to make digital signage work for a business and there are many players in the field.

Consisting of screens, media players, web-based content management system and support for Wifi, 3G and bluetooth, 121VIEW allows you to easily set up and scale your digital signages. All you need is your own content to be displayed.

The system is Linux-based.

While for traditional billboards, the old way of audience measurement consisted of people manually clicking tally counters in their hands, one click for every person who walks by. This method is still being used, but as with all advancement in technology, what can be manually done may be digitally emulated and made more efficient.

With 121VIEW’s InterFace© audience measurement system, one can tell the viewer’s attention span, number of people passing each single screen and how long viewers dwell at the screen, and further broken down into age groups and genders of the viewers for valuable demographic analysis. It also has the ability to automatically switch content if the ad it is currently displaying has been deemed more suitable for a male audience while a female is looking at it.

If you wish to use InterFace©, take note that you have to get your own Linux-compatible webcams installed as this is not provided by 121VIEW.
